Carey runs the Marina Office, managing all formalities involved in staying a current tenant. She is a member of several state and national boating associations keeping our marina up to date on state and federal regulations, safety tips, insurance changes, and marketing ideas. Carey is the first person of contact in regards to rules, insurance, and all paperwork. Carey’s job is to use these resources to make the marina a wonderful place to sail out of. Carey works Monday through Friday.Carey grew up in Point Richmond sailing out of Richmond Yacht Club and spending a lot time at Brickyard Cove as her dad raced Ethchells out of the Marina. She attended UC Santa Cruz for a year studying Marine Biology then transferred to San Francisco State where she studied Graphic Design with a minor in Marketing. With these interests Carey was very excited to return to Brickyard Cove and make a career in the marine industry. Carey’s earliest memories of Brickyard Cove Marina are walks she took with her parents looking for tweedle beetles.
BJ is second in command to Carey running the Marina Office. She is the customer service lead making sure all of our tenants are enjoying the facility. BJ manages the rentals for both the berths and the office buildings and is the contact for interested tenants. BJ works Mondays through Fridays. BJ grew up sailing at Richmond Yacht Club leading into High School Sailing for Redwood High School where sailing became her lifestyle and passion. She then went on to sail for the University of Hawaii Manoa where she studied Sociology. Since college she has done the Pacific Cup which was always a dream of hers and is now enjoying the transition from competitive to pleasure sailing with the occasional race here and there to keep her in the game.
Eric: Maintenance Manager
Eric is skilled in electrical, all types of construction and any odd jobs he comes across. He is a great motivator and keeps the maintenance staff on their toes with new projects every day. runs the docks as well as maintenance of the buildings and parking area keeping the facility safe, secure, and running properly. Eric and his wife Emmy live aboard their boat on site. Eric works Tuesday through Saturday. Eric learned to sail in the juniors’ program of the Great Salt Lake YC. As a boy he cruised the South Pacific with his folks on a Ranger 33. He raced and sailed his San Juan 24 on Lake Tahoe, SF Bay and the Sea of Cortez. He now owns NATARAJA, a Flying Dutchman 37 that he and his wife have sailed to Hawaii, Alaska, Mexico and the South Pacific. Eric is the first person to contact regarding emergencies on site as well as after hour urgent needs.
Larry: Harbor Technician
Larry is the second in command to Eric and brings great safety awareness to the team due to his past experience as a Fire Fighter. He is highly skilled and motivated to make all our systems run safely and efficiently as well as keep our boaters smiling. Larry has been a driving force in making Brickyard Cove Marina a more social and interactive community and lives aboard his boat on site.
Larry works Monday through Thursday. Larry was born and raised in Santa Rosa, CA. He attended Montgomery High School, Santa Rosa Junior College, Oklahoma University, and University of Hawaii Hilo. Larry is a retired Fire Fighter and started sailing in 1991.
David: Harbor Technician
David is the most seasoned of our group with over 10 years of service at Brickyard Cove Marina. He is in charge of inventory control and is skilled in carpentry, painting and lighting. He is known for his humor, hard work and attention to detail. David works Tuesday through Saturday.
David is from Guatemala and has lived in America for about 30 years. Before moving to the Bay he lived in Texas and in Las Vegas. In Texas he cooked Tex-Mex and in Las Vegas he worked in the casinos cooking. He is married with a son and daughter. David has graduated from Pedro Molina.
Rick: Harbor Technician
Rick has been working for Brickyard Cove Marina since the Spring of 2015. He has 20 years experience as an Owner-Operator of a small construction business in Alaska. Rick has also worked as a Relief Captain and Engineer for two seasons on a 75ft Salmon Tender before moving to California. He enjoys the challenges and diversity of the work it takes to operate and maintain a marina. Everyday always has something new. Rick works Sunday through Wednesday.
Rick is a liveaboard here at Brickyard Cove Marina and enjoys weekend sails on the Bay, as well as, finding a great anchorage.
